Starting the School Year with Faith in Motion
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
The start of a new school year brings a mix of excitement, nerves, and a fresh slate of opportunities. Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or supporter, this season is a chance to begin with purpose — to set your heart on God and let His love guide your steps.
1. Begin with Prayer
Before the first bell rings, cover this school year in prayer. Pray for safety, focus, and open hearts to learn and grow. Ask God to bless not just academic success, but also kindness, integrity, and courage in each hallway and classroom.
2. Live Your Faith Daily
Faith in Motion isn’t about big moments alone — it’s about daily choices. A kind word to a classmate, helping someone carry their books, listening when someone needs to talk — these are the everyday ways we can shine God’s light.
3. Set God-Centered Goals
Grades and achievements matter, but character matters more. Set goals that go beyond academics:
Be quick to forgive.
Stand up for what’s right.
Encourage those who feel left out.
4. Trust God in the Challenges
The school year won’t be without struggles — hard classes, friendship tensions, or moments of self-doubt. Remember that God is with you in every challenge, using it to strengthen your faith and shape your character.
Walk It Out
Pick one way you can show Christ’s love at school this week — smile at someone new, offer help, or invite someone to join your lunch table.
Love in Action
Choose a student, teacher, or staff member to encourage this week. Write them a note, pray for them, or tell them, “I’m grateful for you.” Small acts of kindness can change the course of someone’s day — and even their year.
