The Waiting on God Roadmap

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him…” — Psalm 37:7

Waiting is rarely easy. In a world that thrives on instant results, God’s timing can feel slow, even confusing. But the Bible reminds us that waiting isn’t wasted time — it’s preparation time.

Here’s a roadmap to help you walk through a waiting season with purpose and faith.

1. Pray

Before anything else, bring your need, desire, or burden to God. Prayer shifts your perspective from your problem to His presence.

  • Example: Begin each morning with a prayer for wisdom, patience, and trust.

2. Trust

Trust isn’t passive — it’s choosing to rest in God’s promises even when you don’t see progress.

  • Example: Remind yourself of times God has been faithful in the past.

3. Act in Obedience

Waiting on God doesn’t mean doing nothing. Keep walking in obedience in the areas you can control.

  • Example: Serve, love, and encourage others while you wait.

4. See God’s Promise

When God’s timing unfolds, you’ll see how every delay was shaping you, preparing you, and aligning the pieces for His glory.

Walk It Out

Identify one area where you are waiting. Each day, pray about it, then do one small act of obedience — even if it’s unrelated to your specific request.

Love in Action

Encourage someone else who is waiting. Share a scripture, send a note, or simply tell them, “You’re not waiting alone.”
